Giving Back to Turing

Pay it forward to the Turing community, no matter how much time you have! You can volunteer for as little as 30 minutes, post a job, or even write a review. We couldn’t accomplish all that we do without the support of our volunteers, so if you’re looking for a way to reconnect, we invite you to find something meaningful from our list below.

Partnerships with Turing - Volunteering and Hiring

Are you, staff at your company, or someone in your network interested getting connected to our community through volunteering or hiring? Share the info below or make an email introduction. Turing’s Partnership Manager can be reached at partnerships@turing.edu for all questions related to volunteering and hiring.

Help students hone their professional development skills while developing your own. Current information about upcoming dates to volunteer can be found on this doc.

Hiring Turing Grads

Posting Jobs

There are two ways to share a job at Turing:

  1. Post directly to #job-hunt on Turing’s Slack OR
  2. Take less than 5 minutes to post your jobs on Terminal - the Turing Community’s internal job board for junior, mid, and senior level jobs. In addition to the job board listing, jobs are posted on Turing’s Slack and sent out via email.
    • Create a company profile (you only have to do this once)
    • Provide your contact information. Only Turing’s Partnership Manager and staff will have access to this info for follow-up questions
    • Share details about the job, including a link to apply on your website or for applicants to receive more info

Additional ways to connect with entry level devs:

Connect Us With Your Company

Do you love your job and wish you got to work with more Turing alumni? Is your company hiring devs or do they offer a referral program?

Share this flyer with your hiring manager, supervisor, or anyone in your network who needs to hire a dev and let them know that you’re a Turing School graduate. If you find someone who has questions or needs more information, you can make an email introduction to our Partnership Manager and they can take the conversation from there.

Recruitment and Admissions

Opportunities for you to connect with prospective Turing students:

  • Refer them to our Programs page to learn about Front End, Back End or Launch or to join an upcoming Try Coding session
  • Share a review to Course Report, SwitchUp, Career Karma, and even Google - almost every applicant reports that they read reviews of the program before attending
  • Help our Marketing Team by sharing your Turing story
  • Join the #prospective_contacts Slack channel to help our Recruitment Coordinators answer questions from prospective students

Donating to Turing

If you are interested in donating to Turing, check to see if your organization matches donations or gives grants. Many companies want to support nonprofits that their employees are passionate about.

Contact your HR or DEI lead to ask about:

  • Corporate sponsorship of scholarships, Launch, or DEI efforts
  • Grant making for nonprofits that increase diversity and inclusion in the tech sector, workforce development, or reducing income inequality
  • Matching cash donations of volunteer hours
